Maximizing wood processing

When a wood processing company calls on the Concept-air team to acquire a dust collector, it finds an ally capable of helping it to improve its productivity.

Thanks to its thorough understanding of the processes, Concept-air is able to propose high performance equipment which will allow the company to recover even the finest particle of the wood it transforms.

From small carpentry shops to large sawmills, Concept-air strives to use its innovative expertise to help any company in the wood industry wishing to improve its performance and the quality of its products.

Case study in the wood sector

Treating damp and abrasive materials while maintaining a high level of efficiency

A large-scale sawmill wanted a high-performance dust collector to recover the particles from a high-speed molder. Working in the transformation of green lumber, the company wanted to reuse the slightly wet and abrasive particles emitted during the cutting of wood.

The challenge:

  • Design a dust collector capable of maintaining maximum performance in the treatment of green lumber and the emission of slightly damp and abrasive particles.
  • Optimize the process to reduce material loss to a minimum.

The solution:

Thanks to its constant and steady power of aspiration, the installation of a bag cyclone dust collector was the perfect means of meeting the need to recover the customer’s damp and abrasive particles. This solution facilitated the implementation of an efficient process for collecting wood chips and recovering them for other uses.

Benefits:

By analyzing the processes in place, the Concept-Air team found that it was still possible to maximize the use of the wood, especially by collecting chips, as well as dust. The sawmill now has facilities for:

  • treating much of the sawing residues;
  • Rendering profitable wood particles that were previously unused;
  • Obtaining products of better quality;
  • Increasing productivity;
  • Developing products for new markets.
