A manufacturer of rubber-based sports carpets wanted to procure a dust collector to limit the release of rubber particles in order to meet the safety standards established by the CNESST and to comply with the standards of the Ministry of the Environment.
The Concept-air team went on site to analyze the company’s processes. Initially, the application seemed relatively simple to us but we soon noticed a significant loss of rubber. In order to maximize the use of the rubber, we proposed that the company install a central dust collector to collect particles and two cyclones to treat particles of specific colors.
The rejected particles are recovered in hoppers and returned to the beginning of the carpet manufacturing process. Given the fact that several carpet colors are processed, Concept-air, with the help of its subsidiary Nova-tech, has put in place a separating system that redirects the collected particles to the appropriate production line.
